Note: This letter is from Dave Jones, producer of the Hell NO Show.
For over four years I have envisioned a show that was inspirational and had the content and production quality that would move both unbelievers and believers to start inward dialogue about their belief systems and potentially lead them into developing more godly attitudes and actions. I had hoped that it could actually challenge people to open a Bible and press them into developing more godly thinking.
Being a former hockey player and therefore watching ESPN, I saw a format that would work for doing the above. I knew it had to be quick, hard hitting, and controversial enough to keep people's attention. I began scripting and storyboarding the forerunner called Pastors Point, but I struggled with the "pastors" format being too passive and lacking the draw to attract the audience I wanted. So for about two years, I shelved the concept, prayed, and waited on the Lord.
At this point, Dr. Dale, Steve Noble, and Jason Mitchel, the talent in our new show, entered into my sphere, and I realized that this combination held great potential. We met together and discussed my vision and the possibility of doing a couple of pilots. They were instantly on board and the synergism of these three has produced the inspiration and hilarity that I had hoped for. We decided that the title, Hell NO Show, encompassed a proactive commonality of us all and that it was captivating for both believer and non-believer. So, we launched out and have produced the following episode as a pilot to show you what we believe the Lord has worked in us. You will see the novelty of it and the huge potential that it has to reach both believers and unbelievers. We are really excited about it and want to show you the beginnings of what we believe will be a great tool for the kingdom of God.
We all see the need to be proactive in our beliefs, and as you will see in links listed below, we are putting ourselves on the firing line to boldly go where no one has gone before. We are tired of the same ole same ole and want to see a change in the approach to reaching people. We are outside the nine dots in our production and want you to get outside of them too in your giving to advance the kingdom of God. Would you consider investing outside the norm of tithes and conventional offerings by helping us to produce this for the body of Christ and those waiting to be added to it?
The cost to produce one show is approximately $3,200. I have personally sowed $6,000 of production time, editing time, scripting, storyboarding, and graphic design into the Hell NO Show, and am extending a matching funds agreement to match 50% of the production costs to edit and shoot the 2009 season. We would like to shoot 13 shows to launch in 2009 via the Internet and would like to begin production November 1. The cost to produce 13 shows is $41,600.
Below are the links to our pilot show. Have fun and prayerfully think about sowing into the program. Please call me if you have questions about the details of the show. I believe you are going to love these!
